A mid-year occupation lists review is conducted by Immigration SA. The changes for both the State Nominated Occupation List (SNOL) and the Supplementary Skilled List (SSL) will take effect from February 11, 2019 afternoon.
Occupations are added to the State Nominated Occupation List for a reminder of the 2018-19 Program Year.
Rest of the changes will mostly reflect the re-introduction of the selected occupations that had reached the status of the “special condition” on the SNOL or which were no longer available to offshore applicants on the SSL.
These occupations will only be available to limited seats, with the additional seats made possible due to refusal levels in earlier applications that didn’t meet the stated requirements of Immigration SA or the minimum requirements of the Department of Home Affairs.
NOTE: The Special Conditions status will be removed from the Occupations on SNOL resulting accessibility to more offshore applicants.
Note: Many from the above occupations will be reinstated at “Low Availability” due to the limited availability of places.
Occupations from the SSL with restrictions on offshore applicants will be lifted which means the “High Points” and “Chain Migration” Pathway will be available again.
English Level Changes
Note: Immigration SA doesn’t offer a nomination for the occupations of Sugar Cane Grower & Cotton Grower on either the SNOL or SSL.
Visa subclass availability
Note: Four occupations as listed below have been changed to 489 provisional visas only for offshore applicants. This change is effective immediately.
